Herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and pregnancy

Started by Katie88 on 01/20/2019 12:40pm

I am 30 years old and diagnosed with l4/l5 herniations Anne spinal stenosis in the same area. Injections, for the most part, have been working great for me. However, when a flare up happens I can’t do much of anything.

My husband and I are trying to conceive and this would be my first pregnancy. I’ve had discussions with both my OBGYN and spine doctor and both say I am okay to get pregnanct but the pain that might accompany it and me not being able get injections terrifies me. They have also both told me that pregnancy is unpredictable and my body changing may also alleviate the pain from my nerves.

Do any of you have similar situations and have had healthy and okay pregnancies? I’d love to hear your stories.

Also, how about physical therapy? My OB recommended getting that started now to help me out.
