mri and bone scan

Started by dexonsbabe on 03/02/2010 1:34pm

In July 09 I had a MRI which shows disc degeneration with narrowing of disc space at L4/5, moderate diffuse annulus bulge. Schmorl's in upper surface of L5 with surrounding recent oedema. L5/S1 disc degeneration with small posterior central disc protrusion. Which if I understand my consultant basically means disc degeneration. Had an epidural which didn't make any difference to the pain. So a few weeks ago I had a bone scan which showed high level of radioactivity at L4/5 vertebrae suggesting degenerative changes.

My question is are both the MRI and Bone Scan referring to the disc's or is the bone scan referring to the actual vertebrae and if so does that mean theres more wrong than the disc degeneration.

Thanks in advance for any advise given
