Ortho or Neuro - ALIF

I'm scheduled for an anterior lumbar interbody fusion at the L5-S1. I've been having problems (major disk herniation) for the better part of 10 years I'd say and I can't really go through this anymore. So the question I have right now is, do I go to an ortho or a neuro? I'm currently scheduled with an ortho who is a spine specialist and would not perform any unneccessay surgeries and was told I'd be in good hands (checked around with other doctors I know). I just want to have confidence going into this.
