had injections and now cant walk

Started by jenn27bradford on 05/15/2011 6:52pm

I am a pretty healthy 27yr old female. I had what I think as typical back pain. I only had issues after I stood for a long time or when I was in a bent position like doing the dished. I had been seeing a pain mgmnt doc for six months he never ran any tests other than a physical and put me on really strong pain meds. After 2 months of being on them he started telling me I had to do back injections or he was cutting off my meds. I told him I wasn't comfortable with that when no tests have been ran. Last month he had an x ray done of my back and told me that all my cartlege and ligiments were gone and they needed to do an epidural, steroid, and a facet level 1&2 injections. That night my left thight mussel starts twiching then my leg startd cramping then after four days I can no longer walk on it. I'm on a walker with excruciating pain. It started in my left buttocs down my theigh and now my calves. I have to sleep in a recliner cause i cant get out of my bed. I never had leg issues until these injections. I'm so scared I don't know what's wrong if it will get better. The docs want to wait weeks to run theae tests. I have four kids I can't care for. If anyone has any idea what this is please respond
