RFD Procedure on Facet joint nerve

Started by swierson on 03/15/2019 12:01pm

I have had Radiofrequency neurotomy done twice on my nerves in the Facet joint that have relieved my back pain considerably. I just had it done by another practitioner on Tuesday (3/12) and am experiencing extreme pain at night. Had to take Percocet last night to even sleep. The new Doctor told me they use a different needle and system than my precious Doctor. He told me his needle and system require him to go in from the side which is more intrusive and can result in more irritation to the nerves and bone. The previous Doctor had a system/needle allowing him to go directly to the targeted nerve. He promised me that the pain I am now experiencing is temporary (few days to 2 weeks) and I will experience the same outcome as I did previously.

Has anyone had an experience like this?
