Opioid Crisis Crisis

Started by AllFused on 11/09/2019 5:45pm

I don't know if you're experiencing the same issues as me (L1-L5 fused, severe spinal Cervical & Lumbar stenosis & more), but over the last year or two my pain doctor has decreased my Oxymorphone 20mg 4 times daily & Hydrocodone 10/325 (Norco) 6 times daily to NO Oxymorphone & Norco 5x daily. When I was taken the previous doses I was almost pain free with NO side effects. NOTE: I was on this amount for 8 years and never asked for an increase & have to say I was able to do everything I needed to do. I was working in IT as a software/hardware engineer making good money, raising a family, homeowner, etc. After titrating over time and no more Oxymorphone I had to take an early retirement (after 30 years in IT). I didn't want to quit, but the pain was too intense even though the company I was with let me work from home. SO, my question to everyone is: For the folks who were actually in pain & had to decrease their Opioid intake BECAUSE of the Opioid crisis "did it ruin your life"? I live in Georgia and my pain Doc said he decreased ALL his patients, not because they abused Opioids or went doctor shopping or anything Illegal. The state DEA requested ALL pain patients decrease the amount of Opioids taken. Is it like this across the USA?

Thanks for listening,
