360 L5 S1 spinal fusion

Started by kerbear94 on 11/19/2019 11:10am

My 15 year old daughter was diagnosed with bilateral pars defects at her L5 S1 and level 1 spondylolysis. All of which is due to over use (she was a dancer) and complications from growth spurts. Her disc at the fracture site is at an approximately 20% lost of functionality. We have tried treating the disc and surrounding area with PRP, stem cell, and the latest we are scheduled for this week is discseel. We recently were giving a treatment option called 360 fusion of the L5 S1. The doctor I know is excellent, he does not work in the US, but it sounds scary, especially when we are talking about doing this with a 15 year old. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this procedure they would be willing to share?
