My name is Krystal. I have had this chronic pain since 2010. I am only 24 yrs old w 3 wonderful children. I'm debating whether or not to go to the emergency room I've been in severe pain for almost four days the pharmacy made a mistake with my medications so I'm out til Friday. I can barely get out of bed. I have a herniated disc L5 n fibromyalgia. Mind u the herniated disc has jus been found . I used to be told it was pain from depression. So I changed doctors and they found this a week ago. All I have for pain right now is lidoderm patches which are doing nothing. And neurontin 900 a day. What should I do and what will they do at the ER?

They will Most likely send you to an neuro surgeon but they will do x-rays and send you home with some medication

I have been in your shoes multiple times. At the ER they may give you a shot to help with the pain, usually toradol and maybe a script for muscle relaxers which will help for the time being. I agree the patches are a joke. Make sure to tell them of the disc issues that have been discovered more than likely they will want to X-ray or MRI to check for possible rupture. Then follow up with your regular Dr.
