I'm new here

Started by B ecca L on 05/01/2018 4:15pm

I have had DDD for 22yrs and i thought i had gotton a better grip on all this when three weeks ago things started to slip. I started to get some new pain in my back and down my left leg. By the time I got up to go to the doc this morning it has gotten so bad that I spent most of yesterday trying not to throw up and crying from the pain. They took some x-rays and found that the cartilage is worn away in several spots in my spine. I already know what comes next and I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around the feeling that I've come so far only to be knocked back where I began. I dont think i can do this again.

Hi, B ecca L--Welcome to our Community. We are so sorry to read about the pain you've recently experienced. We hope you've been able to explore some of the other posts in this forum--we can assure you many people can relate to the pain and disappointment you're going through.

Can you share a bit about what your doctor recommended in terms of treatment?

We'd like to share a link to our DDD resource center: ( Degenerative Disc Disease Center ). This link will connect you to a wealth of information about DDD. Though you've had the condition for many years and no doubt know much about it, perhaps there is some information about therapies that might be worth looking into.

Again, we are sorry to read about what you're going through. We hope this information helps you, and we wish you the very best.
