Treating sciatica

Started by sawtooth on 07/19/2010 2:10pm

When walking I have a pain in the back of my right leg right in the crotch of my knee joint. I can't lie on my back due to pain that goes down my right leg and have to sleep on my left side in the fetal position. The pain seems not to go into my foot and I have no numbness or tingling whatsoever. My dr. is treating it as sciatica and gave me a 6 day dospak of 4MG methylprednisolone and a 10 day supply of 350MG carisoprodol taking one pill every night at bed time. I'm in the middle of my 3rd day of meds and am feeling cautiously optimistic. I still have the pain when walking but feel it might have gone down to an 8 from a 10. I have a 10's unit and wonder if this would help the healing process and where would I place the electrodes? Any helpful comments would be greatly appreciated.
